About

walkable is a platform from our association moveable, which is committed to improving the infrastructure for pedestrians. If you are interested in other active mobility platforms or want to know more about our organisation or our team, click here.

Here's how it works: Take a photo of a spot that needs improvement (or a good example) and upload it to the platform with a title and description. Others can see the spot, comment on it, share it and give it additional weight with their votes. Responsible bodies can subscribe to receive notifications or be made aware of relevant spots indirectly. In this way, infrastructure improvements can be initiated and communicated via the platform.

FAQ

What are the goals of walkable?

The platform is used to initiate concrete improvements to pedestrian infrastructure by collecting ideas from the public and passing them on to the authorities.

It also promotes awareness and a view of infrastructure from the perspective of active mobility, thus paving the way for sustainable mobility.

Why should I take part in walkable?

Thanks to walkable, you can quickly, easily and publicly share your ideas for better pedestrian traffic. In this way, you can help bring about positive short- and long-term changes to pedestrian infrastructure.

Where does walkable work?

Walkable works everywhere. It works particularly well where local partners or private individuals use the platform and make authorities aware of it, or where authorities already use the platform publicly. Where this is the case, we create country-specific domains, such as walkable.de. The domain-specific websites are distinguished by which spots are displayed in the list as well as news, partners, sponsors, and so on.

Who do the reports go to?

The platform is public and spots can be viewed, shared and forwarded. We also do our best to ensure that as many municipalities, cities, regions or cantons and organizations such as interest groups subscribe to messages and appear officially on the platform. See partners.

Why walkable?

Improved health, less congestion, more social interaction, revitalization of the local economy, and environmental protection are just some of the benefits of a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Together we can achieve these step by step.

What happens to the data?

We only store what we need for smooth operation. No e-mail addresses or other personal data are passed on to third parties. You can find our terms of use and data protection agreement here.
